Pro members help shape Harrington

You get new features first, and your requests are heard.

  • Early feature access — Pro users receive new features via staged rollout before they go to general availability. This is a real routing decision in the release process, not a vague promise.
  • Feature requests are logged and responded to — not a promise to build everything, but a promise to engage seriously: acknowledge the request, explain whether it's on the roadmap, and credit users when their input shapes a feature.
  • Priority support — Pro requests are seen first. Not instant, but meaningfully faster than the self-service queue.

Top-up credits

For when you hit your monthly limit mid-cycle.

If you exhaust your monthly AI allotment, you can buy a top-up pack for $10 — an additional allotment, your current plan unchanged. When a Solo user hits their limit, Harrington will show you both options: upgrade to Pro for $8 more this month, or add a top-up for $10. The upgrade is the better deal; the top-up exists for users who want an extra allotment without committing to Pro.

Your songs, your data

Harrington is a tool that works for you — not the other way around.

  • Your songs are yours. Harrington does not use your songs to train models.
  • Export any time. Your songs can be exported to ChordPro and other open formats whenever you want.
  • Delete your account and data. You can request full deletion of your account and product data at any time, subject only to narrow legal, billing, and security retention requirements.
  • If your subscription lapses, your songs are never locked away. You retain read-only access and can export at any time.
  • Your data is never shared. Harrington does not share your content with third parties. The only exceptions are the managed AI infrastructure/providers that power Harrington's features — who receive your content only when you invoke an AI action — and disclosures required by applicable law. Legal obligations are outside our discretion and outside anyone's control; we comply where the law requires it.
  • Back up your work. Harrington takes every reasonable measure to store your data reliably, but no cloud service can guarantee against loss in all circumstances. Export your songs regularly and keep your own copies. Harrington is not liable for data loss; your creative work is your responsibility to protect.

FAQ

Do I need a card to start the trial?

Yes. You start by choosing Solo or Pro in Stripe Checkout and adding a payment method. The first 7 days are free, and you can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

What happens when my trial ends?

If you do not cancel, your selected Solo or Pro subscription begins after the 7-day trial. If you cancel, your account moves to read-only and you can export your songs before deciding whether to return.

What is the AI allotment?

Each plan includes a monthly allotment of AI usage — described in songwriter terms, not token counts. Solo covers an active writing month for most users. Pro covers a higher level of use. Exact allotments are not published because they may change as the product matures; the goal is that Solo covers normal use and Pro covers heavier use.

Can I upgrade from Solo to Pro mid-cycle?

Yes. If you hit your monthly AI limit as a Solo user, Harrington will offer you the option to upgrade to Pro or buy a top-up pack. The upgrade is retroactive for the current month, costing $8 more for the current month and changing you to the $18/month Pro plan going forward. The top-up pack costs $10 and gives you an additional allotment without changing your plan.

Does Harrington send my lyrics anywhere?

Song data is stored on Harrington's servers. When you invoke an AI feature, the relevant content is sent to Harrington's managed AI infrastructure/providers to generate a response — that is how those features work. Harrington does not use your songs to train models, and our agreements with AI providers prohibit them from doing so.

Your data is not shared with any other third parties. The only exception is where applicable law requires disclosure — legal obligations are outside our discretion and we comply where required. You can export or delete your data at any time from settings.

What does Harrington actually know about me when generating suggestions?

Only what you've explicitly provided — nothing more, nothing inferred.

When Harrington's AI features run, the context they receive is limited to what you've consciously put into the app: your songwriter profile (the personality, influences, experience, and preferences you described in onboarding) and the song content you're actively working on. That's the entire box. We don't pull from your social media, analyse your behaviour, research your background, or infer preferences from anything you haven't told us directly. If you want the AI to know something about your writing style or creative intent, you tell it. We take what you provide at face value.

This is a deliberate design choice. It means you're in control of what the AI knows about you — and it means the quality of Harrington's assistance is directly tied to the quality and honesty of your input. A fuller, more candid songwriter profile produces more relevant results. A sparse one produces generic ones. That's a feature, not a flaw: the AI works for you within the boundaries you set.

Harrington does record detailed product activity for authorship audit trails, coaching reports, debugging, safety, and product improvement. That activity record is not used as hidden personality profiling for AI. AI context comes from explicit song, profile, and workflow inputs, plus any audit or report artifact you choose to generate.

Which AI provider does Harrington use? Can I choose?

The specific AI providers and prompt architecture behind Harrington's features are proprietary — and that's intentional. They're the product.

Anyone can open a general-purpose AI account and ask it to help write a song. What Harrington provides isn't access to AI — it's everything that happens between your request and the response. The craft-specific prompt engineering, the layered context across song, section, and line levels, the ongoing tuning to make AI genuinely useful for the decisions a songwriter actually faces — that's what you're paying for. Harrington handles all AI interaction on your behalf, entirely in the background. You don't choose the provider, configure the context, or manage prompts. You use the workbench; Harrington handles the rest.

What we disclose — because it's relevant to your privacy — is that your content is sent to AI providers only when you invoke an AI feature, never scanned in the background, and providers are contractually prohibited from using it for training. Full details are in our Privacy Notice.

Is there live chat or phone support?

Not at this stage. Support is self-service first — documentation, in-app guidance, and email support. Solo users get best-effort email responses. Pro users get the priority queue — their requests are seen first.
